Grace Willcox is a writer and poet living in Portland, Maine. Her work has appeared in Qu Magazine, The Portland Dirt, PHEMME Zine, and more. Her writing is often an attempt to find meaning in this temporary world. After working as a barista for over 10 years, she imagines her work in the service industry fueled her not only energetically, but socially, as she made connections and gathered artistic intel one flat white at a time. She remained content in this role as the starving artist, because at least she didn’t have to pay for coffee.
Currently, she is the Communications Manager for the The Telling Room, a literary arts education organization focused on publishing young writers ages 6 to 18 based in Portland, Maine. She is currently daydreaming about her next creative project, but her focus is primarily on how to better engage with her immediate community through writing.
